Flavours of Europe
Located in the beautiful region of Tuscany in the north-west part of Italy, Pisa is one of Europe’ s most important historic cities. For most people, Pisa is about its leaning tower, the bent bell tower of its ancient cathedral but there is much more to this city than that. The city is full of historic churches, several palaces and many beautiful bridges across the River Arno. It has a university (University of Pisa) which dates back to the 12th century, cafes, restaurants, bars and shopping to balance the past and sample all that modern Italy has on offer. Pisa continues to be an important centre for education in Italy. World famous institutes such as the mythic Napoleonic Scuola Normale Superiore di Pisa and Sant’Anna School of Advanced Studies (known as Superior Graduate Schools in Italy) are located here.
